Yesterday i.e. 4th Oct marks 14 years of life as an employee, a ’salaried’ person, a person in ‘Service’. 4th Oct1993 – the day I joined Aptech. Now at my 2nd job, 14 years seems such a long time to me and I wonder about people who have spent 30-35 years in a job! Quite a few people join a company / organisation and retire from the same place – I admire their patience and perseverance or probably they really loved their work enough to stick on… Will I ever last so long as these people??
But now in these days of fast-paced IT life one who doesn’t change his / her job within 2-3 years is made out to be less than competent or complacent. Nobody thinks that you can like your work and so stick on at one place…
Well – looks like we sail in the same boat na
ya true… i too have similar thoughts.. u know i still remember my father working with indian government for more than 40 odd year.. and i now i wonder .. can somebody be so loyal or its only more opportunity which makes you uncomfortable with your current job… also when left my job it was really one of the toughest decision to take … and i am now thinking going back to the same old company.. not because of money its something which makes you feel being the part of any organization if you spend some time there… and most importantly its being in a comfortable zone… and you rightly said you are said to be less than competent or complacent if they stick to the same job… but anyway all that matters is what an individual thinks and not because what other thinks…
True, Nishant finally if you can follow your heart, I think things will be fine:). and good to see you @wordpress
